Eligibility Requirements For Private Domestic Homes

Private domestic premises are either:
- Owner Occupier or
- Private Rented Sector homes
Measures can be delivered through either:
- Help to Heat; or
- ECO Flex
- Properties in shared ownership, such as social landlord with private individual also qualify as owner occupied properties
- Properties purchased for sale back to the customer over a period of time – such as Sharia mortgages – may also be eligible subject to additional paperwork
- Lifetime Mortgage Equity Release will be counted as owner occupied
- Home Revision Plan Equity Release schemes will require approval by Ofgem in advance to determine if they will be classed as Owner Occupied or Private Rented Sector
- If a Land Registry specifies a property is subject to lease, this must be provided as well to ensure that the property is not let to a social landlord
Eligible homes are based on EPC starting bands.
The starting score is determined by an Energy Performance Report (EPR)which can be carried out by Knights.
Owner occupier (Home Owners): with EPC ratings of D, E, F & G
Private rented sector (Landlords and / or Tenants) : with EPC ratings of E, F and G
